My Life as a Strategist: Leading with Precision, Passion, and Purpose

by Justin Csernai

My name is Justin, and this is my first time writing a blog in any form. As a Strategist profile, I find tasks like this to be difficult sometimes as I want it to be the best it can be. I am not an expert by any means (yet) and I can find that to be burdensome, but here goes nothing!

I am the Director of Executive Search for our Professional Services division, tasked with the strategic and continued growth of the division as well as leadership of my direct team. I am a proud father of three with my wonderful wife of 10 years. I am a sports enthusiast and avid Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings fan. I grew up playing multiple sports as well, and quickly found myself in leadership roles on those teams.

Before joining W Talent Solutions I had never taken a Predictive Index Assessment, but seeing my results as a Strategist hit the nail on the head. The excerpt from my summary, “Strongly technically oriented, has confidence in own professional knowledge and ability to get things done quickly and correctly. Justin takes work and responsibilities very seriously and expects others to do the same” resonates with me. As a leader, I am not a big “rah-rah” guy, but I pride myself on being the best at my craft and leading by example.

As a Strategist, I tend to be an “intense, results-oriented, self-starter whose drive and sense of urgency are tempered and disciplined by a concern for the accuracy and quality of my work”. In other words, I like to get stuff done and I want it done right the first time. I am an “ask questions and shoot later” type of person. This can get me into trouble sometimes because you won’t always have all the information. Sometimes you just have to pull the trigger, whether at work or in life.

Overall, these traits have served me well personally and professionally. I don’t have a large friend group; I keep my circle small. However, that circle knows that I am dependable and will be there to support them anytime, any day. The same can be said at work. I will work tirelessly to support the team to help us win so we can be the best at what we do!
